Norway Seeks Clarity on Israel's Duties to Palestinians

On Tuesday, Norway urged the International Court of Justice to clarify Israel's obligations regarding the Palestinians. According to Norway's opinion, Israel must comply with international humanitarian law concerning the Palestinians in the occupied territories, including the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip. "Norway believes that under international humanitarian law, Israel is obligated to prevent violations of the human rights of the Palestinians," stated the Norwegian representative in The Hague. "We hope that the International Court of Justice will provide clarifications on Israel's obligations regarding the observance of international law in the occupied Palestinian territories," the representative added.
