Former NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has been appointed as the new Minister of Finance of Norway. He plans to take on this responsibility in the coming days.
Stoltenberg has already expressed his intention in the new position, stating that his main priority is to focus on combating climate change. His appointment comes after the previous finance minister resigned due to a scandal related to millions in losses during the supplementary issuance of shares in the company "Archer."
"We must utilize all available means to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius," Stoltenberg noted, commenting on his future leadership of the Norwegian Ministry of Finance.
