The Crown Princess of Norway, Princess Märtha Louise, appeared at an official event carrying an oxygen tube for the first time. Her appearance was for a reception for Norwegian participants in the Paralympic Games. Also attending the event at the Royal Palace in Oslo were the Crown Prince of Norway, Prince Haakon, and the couple's children, Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus. Princess Märtha-Loise suffers from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, an incurable disease. This disease causes scarring of the lungs, which can lead to shortness of breath and other symptoms. Photos released on Friday by the Norwegian news agency (NTB) showed Princess Märtha-Loise with a device known as a nasal cannula, which is used to deliver supplemental oxygen to a patient.
