Tram Derails and Crashes into Store in Oslo

A tram in Oslo derailed and collided with an electronics store, resulting in four people injured, all with minor injuries. The incident occurred on Storgata, a major road in the Norwegian capital, causing significant damage to the establishment. Among the injured was the tram driver, who apparently did not follow the intended direction and ended up crashing into the store instead of turning left, according to police and fire department reports.

The four-story building was evacuated to assess potential structural damage, while Sporveien, the company responsible for tram and metro operations in Oslo, is cooperating with authorities in investigating the incident. Although all the injured received medical attention on-site, none had serious injuries. It was reported that around 20 people were on board the train at the time of the accident.

Images from the incident site reveal that the first carriage of the tram penetrated the interior of the affected store. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the derailment and are awaiting the arrival of members of the Norwegian Safety Investigation Authority to clarify what happened. Regarding the tram driver, the police consider him a suspect in the case, but his identity has not been publicly disclosed.
