Copenhagen - Reuters. The Norwegian Maritime Authority confirmed on Thursday that it will not allow vessels flying the Norwegian flag to enter the Strait of Hormuz until further notice, due to escalating security tensions following US and Israeli attacks on Iran. The authority added that the decision on whether it is safer to leave the area or remain there is up to the shipping companies themselves for any vessels in the Strait of Hormuz area. It said in a statement: "Given the development of the situation, it is important for us to emphasize that we are now moving from a strong recommendation regarding navigation in the area to a ban".
