Вenezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado was scheduled to hold a press conference in Oslo as the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, but the event was postponed while awaiting her arrival.

The Nobel Institute in Oslo announced the news and, without offering details, simply stated that the new time would be announced "with a minimum of two hours' notice".

Clara Machado Parisca, the leader's sister, who is already in Oslo, told the press that María Corina "is trying to get to Oslo".

Ricardo Machado, the son of Corina Machado, who is also in the Norwegian capital, said he felt "very excited and proud" of his mother's struggle. Meanwhile, the opposition leader's mother, Corina Parisca, and her other daughter, Ana Corina Sosa Machado, are also already in Oslo.

Corina Machado herself said: "Every day I pray the Rosary, I ask God the Father, the Virgin Mary, both together, that we may have María Corina tomorrow. Her desire is to be here with us," the woman said, according to statements published by the Argentine Newsweek site, accessed by the Argentine News Agency.

She continued: "We have faith that she will arrive very soon. Her desire is to be here and receive the prize. And if we don't have her tomorrow, it is because that is the will of God".

Edmundo González Urrutia, another opposition leader who was voted - and recognized by several nations - president of Venezuela, was also waiting in Oslo for Mrs. Machado.
