Equinor CEO: No spare capacity to increase oil and gas production

The CEO of Norwegian Equinor, Anders Opedal, said on Thursday that the state-owned company has no spare capacity to increase its oil and gas production amid supply shortages from producers in the Middle East. "Our focus is on ensuring that we are considered a reliable source of oil and gas for the markets we operate in, and on ensuring the highest possible production, as this is absolutely essential these days," he told Reuters on the sidelines of an oil and gas conference in Oslo. US and Israeli attacks on Iran and its retaliatory strikes on countries in the region have disrupted about 20% of global oil and liquefied natural gas supplies through the strait.
